The couple chose to have their civil wedding ceremony outdoors at AFKROG Reffen in Copenhagen, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
One of the great things about getting married in Denmark is that your legal ceremony doesn’t have to take place inside City Hall. In this case, an official from Copenhagen City Hall came to Reffen to officiate the ceremony right there at the venue.
It’s such a nice option for couples who want the simplicity of a civil ceremony but also want their wedding to feel personal and relaxed. Instead of moving between locations, everything happened in the same place, which made the whole day feel very easy and natural.
Drinks, Mingling, and Group Photos
After the ceremony, guests stayed outside to celebrate with drinks and finger food. People were chatting, laughing, and enjoying the warm Copenhagen afternoon.
This part of the day is actually the perfect time for group photos and family pictures. Everyone is already there, people are relaxed and happy, and the atmosphere is very light.
Instead of pulling people away for a long photo session, we simply found a nice spot nearby and quickly took the group and family photos. It keeps things easy and fun for everyone, and the photos always feel more natural.
Dinner at AFKROG Reffen
As the afternoon slowly turned into evening, guests moved inside for dinner at AFKROG.
For anyone who hasn’t visited Reffen before, it’s one of Copenhagen’s most unique places. The area used to be industrial, but today it’s a creative waterfront space full of street food stalls, restaurants, bars, and cultural events. In the summer especially, it’s buzzing with life.
That energy makes it a really fun and different setting for a wedding in Copenhagen.
